Regarding Laptop Day

Not following these directions or arriving without required documents will result in the inability for us to finalize your enrollment.

Congratulations again on successfully enrolling in the KS Workforce Partnership JoCo 2.0 grant to participate in SnapIT Technology Trainings. You should have selected and received confirmation on the specific day and time for you to go to KS Workforce Partnership’s office to finalize your eligibility and to pick up your laptop and course materials.

Please understand, we are expecting a large number of students at our office who will be going through the same process as you. This protocol is designed to keep everyone safe regarding Covid-19, as well as keep this day organized and expedited.

Before Laptop Day

      1. Create an account with KansasWorks. This step is important. If you create an account before you arrive, the process on laptop day should only take approximately 20-30 mins from start to finish.
        • a. Go to www.kansasworks.com
        • b. Click on Log In/Register in the top right hand corner.
        • c. Follow the prompts and enter the necessary information to create an account.
      2. Collect the necessary eligibility documents to prove–
        1. Negative impact on employment due to Covid-19
        2. Kansas residency (Johnson county ONLY) and
        3. Establish authorization to work in the U.S. and
        4. 18 years or older.
          Below is the list of documents you can use to support eligibility, and here is a video that may help explain the requirements:

      1. After you register, you will be sent a link to sign up for your enrollment time slot by a SnapIT representative. Please make sure to save your appointment time. Virtual appointments are available for those who cannot make it to the office.

      Laptop Day

      1. Come to KS Workforce Partnership on the laptop day you chose. The office is located at 8535 Bluejacket, Lenexa, KS 66214.
      2. Make sure to bring all your eligibility documentation with you. Failure to bring any of the documentation will result in us sending you home to retrieve them.
      3. As space will be limited, please don’t bring anyone who isn’t registered for course in building with you unless they are minor children.
      4. When you enter, please let the front desk know that you are there to enroll in a SnapIT training course during laptop day.
      5. Your documents will be reviewed for eligibility. If your eligibility is approved, you will be directed to a room where you will receive your course materials (notebook, writing utensils) and laptop for the course. E-books will be provided to your email. *If you would like a hard copy of your book, please email [email protected] to request before laptop day to ensure we have a copy available for you.
      6. That is it, you are ready to go. You will receive an email from your instructor giving you details on when and how to join the class via zoom.
